“An accomplished performer, Millar’s voice has been described as a “pure country instrument”. Her sound reflects a traditional/roots country upbringing and she remains solid in her style.”
Tracy Millar comes from a world far away from those where an artist’s career is shaped by the myriad of variables, the music business insists are necessary to drive a musician’s career. A rural Alberta gal, Tracy has always been passionate about music and contributing to her community. And passionate with a capital “P”, as this recording artist never gives less than 100% of her heart, and God-given talents to any project or performance.
All this wouldn’t carry much weight if Tracy Millar’s efforts over the last two decades had landed on deaf ears and indifferent audiences. But the fact is Millar has been winning over the public and peers with a pure voice coming out of the country tradition and songs resonating with audiences possibly hearing her for the 1st time or 10th time. She’s been the custodian of pure country sound, gracing airwaves, theatres, festivals, and halls across Alberta. An accomplished performer, Millar strives to stay humble, loving to connect with her audience at every performance.
With the 2020 pandemic came some obstacles to releasing her full self-penned 3rd Album “I’m Not 29 No More” but finally in January 2021 she released her record along with the single “Loretta’s Moonshine”, which saw Millar having her first top 100 success on the BDS chart.
Recent singles in 2023 & 2024 saw releases to all streaming platforms and Canadian radio.
Besides performing, writing and recording her own music, Tracy has been a guest artist with “The Gift-The Words & Music of Ian Tyson” for the last fifteen years. A project near and dear to her heart as she pay homage to the cowboy lifestyle she loves through Tyson’s words and music.
Tracy is also stepping into a new spotlight with a project that’s as personal as it gets. “My Roots Are Showing” isn’t just a show; it’s a love letter to the music that molded her into the artist she is today. With a fondness for steel guitars and shuffles, Tracy breathes life into classics about love and heartbreak, taking audiences on a nostalgic journey through country music’s golden era. Performing the timeless hits of country’s trailblazers is a dream realized for Tracy, and her passion radiates with every note. Whether she’s belting out covers or weaving her own classic country tales, Tracy’s performances are a masterclass in authenticity and precision. It’s clear she’s more than just a singer – she is the essence of country music, born to keep the flame of true country burning bright.
“There are not many hardcore, traditional country, female singers on the Canadian music scene these days…most have opted for the diva route. Tracy Millar, of rural New Sarepta, Alberta, has stuck to her roots… raised on the family’s record collection filled with Charley Pride and Loretta Lynn LP’s”. Larry Delany, Country Music News
“Tracy Millar possesses a fine voice that consistently finds the emotional heart of an Ian Tyson song when she is in a featured role in The Gift: The Words & Music of Ian Tyson. She is also the ultimate team player and entertainer who engages the audience and her fellow bandmates at every turn”. Peter North, Producer of “The Gift”
“Tracy Millar was here at the Ol’ MacDonalds Music Festival a few years ago. She was a delight to work with, and put on one of the most amazing performances we’ve had. Can’t wait to hear her again”. Kevin MacDonald/Owner-Operator
“Lakedell Agricultural Society welcomed Tracy Millar to play at our 2019 Bullridin’ & Bootscootin’. We could not have been happier with our decision. She is easy going and a joy to work with. Our winter bull riding and dance are held in the indoor arena and she prided herself in sounding fantastic! Tracy keeps the crowd going well into the night and we would recommend her to any committee looking for event entertainment”. Lakedell Ag Society
